Connect Semrush to SEOquake

SEOquake provides on-page analysis without requiring a Semrush account. Connecting Semrush is optional. It adds detailed backlink reports and gives you access to Traffic Analytics when it’s included with your account.

With a connected account, Semrush Site Audit in SEObar can show existing results for the current page when a matching campaign has crawled it.

What Works Without Signing In

You can use most of SEOquake’s features without signing in to Semrush.

The core extension covers:

• Page Info: Title, meta description, URL, and other page-level details
• Content: Headings, images, links, and on-page content signals
• Audit: Page analysis, mobile, technical, and social metadata checks
• Schema: Structured data with Open Graph and Twitter Card tags
• Keyword Density: A breakdown of the most-used words and phrases on the page
• Internal and External Links: Every link on the page, with anchor text, follow status, HTTP status, and optional metrics
• Compare: A side-by-side comparison of URLs or domains using SEOquake parameters

A set of public Semrush metrics is included in SEOquake for free — no account needed.

This includes:

• Semrush Rank: A measure of the domain’s organic visibility. Lower numbers indicate more traffic.
• SE Traffic: Estimated monthly organic search traffic
• Traffic Cost: The estimated value of that organic traffic in paid search
• Backlinks: Total backlinks pointing to the exact URL
• Subdomain Backlinks: Total backlinks pointing to the subdomain
• Root Domain Backlinks: Total backlinks pointing to the whole root domain

Quick View shows a smaller subset of these public metrics. All six can also appear in SEObar without a connected Semrush account. Open Settings and select the SEObar tab. Under Parameters, choose which metrics appear.

An “n/a” result usually means Semrush did not return a value for that page or domain.

What a Semrush Connection Unlocks

Connecting your Semrush account expands the Semrush tab in Quick View and the Full Report with additional data:

• Detailed backlink reports: Backlink data viewable at the URL, subdomain, or root domain level
• Referring domains: The unique websites linking to the URL, subdomain, or root domain you’re analyzing
• Referring IPs: Unique IP addresses behind those backlinks, useful for spotting link patterns
• TLD and country breakdowns: Backlink data sorted by top-level domain and country of origin
• Traffic Analytics: Estimated monthly visits across all sources, plus engagement metrics like bounce rate, pages per visit, and visit duration. You’ll also see a breakdown of traffic by channel when the connected account has access.

Sections that require an account appear as a “See More with Semrush” card until you connect.

Connect Your Semrush Account

Follow these steps to connect your Semrush account to SEOquake:

Step 1: Log in to your Semrush account in Chrome.

Step 2: Open the Integrations tab in SEOquake’s Settings. As a shortcut, you can also click the gear icon in Quick View and select “Manage Semrush connection.”

Step 3: Locate the “Semrush Integration” section and click “Connect Semrush.”

Step 4: An authorization window will open requesting account access. Click “Approve” to grant access.

Step 5: Return to SEOquake. In the Integrations panel, the connection status should now show “Connected.”

A working connection will also show this information:

• Connection Status: connected
• Connected Account ID
• Connected Account email, when available
• Disconnect Semrush button

Under “Powered by Semrush,” you’ll also see which Semrush sections are unlocked.

Disconnect Semrush

Disconnecting ends the link between your Semrush account and SEOquake. The core page analysis still works after disconnecting; you’ll just lose access to the connected Backlinks Reports and Traffic Analytics until you reconnect.

Follow these steps to disconnect Semrush from SEOquake:

Step 1: From SEOquake’s Settings, select the Integrations tab.

Step 2: Click the “Disconnect Semrush” button.

Troubleshoot Locked Semrush Data

If Semrush data still appears locked after connecting, try these steps:

Step 1: Reopen SEOquake to refresh the connection.

Step 2: Open Settings > Integrations and verify that the connection status shows “Connected.”

Step 3: If the status looks stale or the data still won’t load, click “Disconnect Semrush” and reconnect.

Step 4: Reopen the SEOquake report you were reviewing.

If certain metrics show “n/a” even with a connected account, that means Semrush doesn’t have data for that specific URL or domain. It’s not a connection issue.

What Connecting Semrush Does Not Change

Connecting Semrush does not turn SEOquake into a full site crawler. SEOquake audits one page at a time (the page you have open in your browser when you open SEOquake) — it doesn’t crawl your entire site.

For a full site crawl, use Semrush Site Audit.

If you see references to Site Audit within SEOquake, those open the Semrush product directly and aren’t tied to your connection status.
