Customize SEOquake to fit your workflow — choose which metrics appear in your reports, manage keyword density filtering, connect your Semrush account, and import or export your settings.

The Settings page has four tabs:
- General: Manage extension-level preferences, like resetting to defaults or moving settings between browsers
- Parameters: Choose which columns appear in your Links and Compare reports, and manage Keyword Density stop words and whitelists
- SEObar: Control where the bar appears, how it loads data, and which metrics and shortcuts it shows
- Integrations: Connect or disconnect your Semrush account
How to Access SEOquake Settings
There are two ways to access SEOquake’s settings: through Quick View or the Full Report.
Quick View
Step 1: Open Quick View and click the gear icon in the upper-right corner.

Step 2: Select “Preferences” from the menu to open Settings in a new tab.

Step 3: Switch between General, Parameters, SEObar, and Integrations to update your settings.

Full Report
Step 1: Open the Full Report and click the gear icon in the upper-right corner. Settings will open in a new tab.

Step 2: Switch between General, Parameters, SEObar, and Integrations to update your settings.

SEOquake General Settings
The General tab covers SEOquake’s overall settings:
- Pop-up Release Note: Click “Show again” to redisplay the latest release note
- Restore Defaults: Click “Restore defaults” to revert all your SEOquake settings to their original values
- Settings Transfer: Click “Export settings” to save your current settings as a file. Click “Select file” to import a previously saved settings file.

When you restore defaults or import settings, SEOquake asks for confirmation before applying the change.
Parameters Settings
In the Parameters tab, you can customize which metric columns appear in the Internal Links, External Links, and Compare reports. You can also configure the stop words used in the Keyword Density report.
Each report can show or hide the same set of parameters, grouped into:
- Internal links
- External links
- Compare

Use the checkboxes to show or hide metrics for each report.
Options include:
Core metrics:
- Semrush Rank
- SE Traffic
- Traffic Cost
- Backlinks
- Subdomain Backlinks
- Domain Backlinks
Other parameters:
- Pinterest Pin Count
- Whois
- Page Source
Click “Save” to apply your changes, or “Reset to default” to restore the default parameter setup.
For a description of what each parameter measures, see the SEOquake Parameters guide.
SEOquake Keyword Density Settings
The Parameters tab also manages stop words for the Keyword Density report. Stop words are common terms that SEOquake filters out, so the report focuses on more meaningful repeated words and phrases. You can use SEOquake’s default list or build your own.

- Use SEOquake’s default stop-word list, which includes common words like “and,” “the,” “of,” and “to”
- Add custom stop words to exclude additional terms
- Whitelist words that should stay in the report
You can also configure stop words directly in SEOquake’s Keyword Density report by clicking “Configure stop-word list.”
SEOquake SEObar Settings
Open the SEObar tab to control where the bar appears and what it shows. Select “Save” after making changes, or “Reset to default” to restore the original setup.

Visibility and loading
- Show SEObar on all pages: Turns the bar on or off on supported webpages
- Show SEObar on HTTPS pages: Allows the bar on supported HTTPS webpages
- Load parameters: Choose “On page load” or “By request” for numerical metrics
Position and appearance
Place SEObar at the Top, Bottom, Left, or Right. Choose Light or Dark, start the bar minimized with “Minimize to icon”, or turn hover details on or off for supported items in the horizontal bar with “Show tooltips”.
Parameters and shortcuts
Under Parameters, choose which metrics appear in SEObar. Under Special parameters, choose its report shortcuts and site tools. The separate main Parameters tab still controls columns for Internal Links, External Links, and Compare.
Semrush Site Audit requires a connected Semrush account, a matching Site Audit campaign, and the current page in that campaign’s latest crawl. SEOquake reads the existing campaign results; it does not run the crawl.
URL filters
Use Exclude list for pages where SEObar should not appear. If Whitelisted domains contains a rule, SEObar appears only on matching domains. Exclusions take priority.
SEObar also stays off browser-restricted pages and is hidden by default on some search-engine and service pages.
SEOquake Integrations Settings
In the Integrations tab, you can connect or disconnect your Semrush account. SEOquake’s core analysis works without a Semrush account, but connecting unlocks deeper data in the Semrush tab.

When connected, you’ll have access to:
- Detailed backlink analysis at the URL, domain, and root domain level, with referring domains, referring IPs, and breakdowns by top-level domain and country
- Traffic Analytics, including total monthly visits, engagement metrics (bounce rate, pages per visit, visit duration), and traffic by channel
